To mark the 150th anniversary of Leoš Janáček's birth, a new version of Janáček's famous opus inspired by folk songs was performed at the Concentus Moraviae festival of South Moravian towns in 2004. The new version is the work of Iva Bittová, Vlado Godár, and the Škampa Quartet and is one of the most interesting creations in Czech music in recent times. An original film testimony about the time 30 years ago. Peter Kořínek is 21 years old, hailing from Pardubice. He listens to underground bands, reads samizdat books, and faces school troubles due to his long hair. He dreams of emigration. It is the beginning of 1989, and there is no indication that he will experience freedom in communist Czechoslovakia.

Pê, a man with terminal cancer, wanders through his city, Lisbon. Throughout the day, he is confronted with a reality unaware of his suffering while he prepares his imminent death by writing a farewell letter to his daughter. When emptying her father’s house, the daughter discovers the letter. It is the beginning of a new encounter.
